General Description

Sparkling Emerald Green Crystals & Bright Yellow & Even Rarer Wulfenite Contrasting On A Huge Top Quality Museum Specimen! This is one of the rarest specimens of Dioptase we have had in years with its combination of Wulfenite! Only a handful of these specimens came up in 2018 to 2019! Exceptionally rare and absolutely museum quality piece. Don't miss out on this killer tenured collectors specimen. 

Generally Speaking - Dioptase is an exceptionally rare material. This often forms in glistening drusy/sugary and classic cubic emerald green crystallisation forms with prismatic forms being extremely rare. Brazzaville specimens were often associated with bright gemmy yellow Wulfenite crystals with smaller numbers of specimens having botryoidal hollow domes of Dioptase. Every single piece has been graded and priced according to quality by Nick. Dioptase is rare and comes in very sporadically, there is a reasonable amount coming from this mine, for now, but it is often years between decent Dioptase finds. Item/s is as shown. 

Question: Are the yellow crystals not Mimetite? Answer: Definitely Wulfenite. Vanadium comes from this deposit. Mimetite  in SA only comes from Wessels Manganese mines and has 6 sided flat topped beryl like crystals and is not recorded from Brazaville/Congo. We also have orange Vanadium Wulfenite from Kaokoveld dioptase/Shattuckite deposit, so they are often associated but rare...especially good crystalline specimens. It is definietly a classic Museum piece and is rare and very spectacular...it would have been an absolute cracker Dioptase without the bright yellow Wulfenite, but with it....hmm yummy!! The photos dont come close to doing that specimen even 50% justice with the intensity of the emerald green real colour...as you you know, we battle (unless we get filters) to capture the emerald greens.
